On June 17, the Senate passed the Guiding and Establishing National Innovation for US Stablecoins (GENIUS) Act (S. 1582) with strong bipartisan support, 68 to 30.
This historic legislation creates the first federal framework for payment stablecoins, protecting consumers through full asset backing while promoting responsible innovation to keep the U.S. competitive in digital finance.
